If you find yourself commonly asking your clients to select their favorite photos for albums, wall prints, pre-purchased images, file editing, and other pre-arranged products, our Favorite Labels functionality is what you're looking for.
Through the use of this functionality your clients can label a pre-determined number of images using whatever label(s) you've defined for them. Once they've finished labeling the images, you can then view, download, and/or send your clients a download link for the labeled images through your back-end Instaproofs account.
Setting up Favorite Labels
Option 1: Gallery Settings
- From the main menu click on Photos » Galleries.
- Click on the name of your gallery to edit the Gallery Settings.
- Scroll to the Favorite Labels section and add an Email Address, a Label, and a Maximum Quantity. The maximum quantity indicates the maximum number of images that the label can be applied to.
- Click Add Label to add more labels for that particular email address.
- Click Add Labels for Another Email Address to add a new address and label for that address.
- Click Save.
Option 2: Visitor Favorites Page
- From the main menu click on Photos » Galleries.
- Click on the Visitors option for your gallery, and then click View Visitor Favorites.
- From within the visitor favorites page you can add new labels through the Add New Label button found at the top of the page. You can also adjust existing labels through this same page.
- Within the Add New Label pop-up, provide an Email Address, a Label, and a Maximum Quantity. The maximum quantity is optional and indicates the maximum number of images that the label can be applied to.
- Click Save.
Default Labels (Optional)
If you'd like to always have a set of default/common labels available to select from within your galleries, you can create a set of default labels by doing the following:
- From the main menu click on Photos » Gallery Types.
- Click on the name of any of your existing gallery types.
- Scroll to the Favorite Labels section within the gallery type settings.
- Create as many default labels as you'd like by typing in the first label value and then clicking the Add Label link to add more.
- Click Save. This will save the default labels that you created, which will then be available to select from within any gallery associated with this specific gallery type.
Viewing Your Clients' Favorites (Labeled or Not)
To view the favorites that your clients have selected, follow the steps outlined below:
- From the main menu click on Photos » Galleries.
- Locate your gallery and click on Visitors » View Visitor Favorites.
- If your client has added any images to their favorites, or if they've attached labels to any of the images, clicking on the name of the label and/or favorite list will allow you to view the selected images.
- Clicking the Options box for a specific label will present you with the following set of options:
- View Selected Photos - Choose this option to view your client's chosen favorites.
- Modify Label Details - Choose this option to change the label name, email address, maximum quantity, or to adjust the Favorite List Status*.
*The "Status" setting can be used for internally tracking the status of a favorites list. The "Open" status allows your client to continue adding and modifying the list, while all of the other statuses will lock the list and keep it from being edited by your client. - Download All Photos - Choose this option to download your client's selected favorites.
- Send Download Link - Choose this option to send a download link to your client's email address, which will allow them to download their selected favorites.
- Export as CSV File - Choose this option to download a spreadsheet file containing a list of your client's favorites.
- Delete this Label - Choose this option to remove the label.
How Will Your Clients See it?
Your clients can choose a favorite image by either clicking the heart icon below the large view of an image, or by clicking the heart icon displayed on the bottom of a thumbnail image. If one or more labels have been defined for your client, they will then be able to select which favorites list(s) they want the image to be placed in.
If your client wishes to view their list of favorites after selecting them, they can click the heart icon in the upper right corner of the page and select the specific list they'd like to view.
If they wish to remove an image from their favorites they can simply click the heart icon again for that image and then uncheck the box for the list where that favorite resides. They can also choose a different list if they wish to move their favorite to the other list.
